The Climbing Tree began in 2001 in our previous location at The Woodlands United Methodist Church. In 2005, TWUMC elected to close the Climbing Tree Ministry. At the time, the school was serving over 100 families. Upon the announcement to close, the staff and the families joined together to carve out a solution to keep this ministry alive in The Woodlands community and continue to serve the families enrolled and support those families served who were facing various hardships. Through the efforts of many and led by God’s hand, The Climbing Tree successfully relocated and was formally adopted as a vital ministry at Christ Church United Methodist in The Woodlands, next door to The Woodlands High School.

Now entering our 4th year in our new home, The Climbing Tree is stronger than ever and has expanded class offerings to include a full day kindergarten and a successful summer camp program for school aged children.

Our philosophy continues to focus on the overall development of children. We believe children build skills by interacting with concrete materials and experiencing the environment through their senses. We feel children learn best by interacting with concrete materials and experiencing the environment through their senses.

We provide an atmosphere where a child feels loved and accepted for who he is – a special person created by God. Parents and teachers work together to support each other in providing positive learning experiences for our children. Children at the Climbing Tree experience God’s love and a sense of self-worth through love and acceptance.
